Hotel marks its fifth year
THE ST Moritz Hotel held a fifth anniversary party to celebrate the opening of the first phase of the multimillion-pound complex in 2007.
Present at the party were local people who belong to the Solid As Rock – For Very Important Locals' club, as well as hotel staff, several of whom have worked there for the entire five years.
A cake shaped like the Art Deco-inspired hotel was commissioned as a centrepiece for the party, while canapés and Pimm's were on offer throughout the evening.
Managing director Hugh Ridgway thanked the Solid As Rock members for supporting the hotel all year around and for helping it to achieve its best year to date in 2012.

The £15 million hotel above Daymer Bay comprises 48 bedrooms, with 16 suites and 32 double bedrooms.
Mr Ridgway said: "I can't believe it is now five years since we opened.
"This month sees the start of our fifth birthday year; we're going to be marking the fifth anniversary of the day that each phase of the hotel opened, so get ready for a year of celebration at the St Moritz.
"We first welcomed customers into the Cowshed Spa in September 2007 and it was July 2008 when we opened the last rooms of the hotel – and, thank goodness, waved goodbye to the builders.
"What a rollercoaster ride it has been – the sheer terror of opening into the teeth of the worst recession ever, quickly followed by the joy of seeing the new apartments and hotel rooms come alive with happy and contented customers," he said.
