Hounds make their feast number
SOME 20 riders with hounds brightened up a cold and miserable Madron Feast Monday morning.
The meeting of the Western Hunt was one of a series of events held to celebrate the village's feast week.
A decent number of villagers came out to watch the spectacle and many then took refuge in Landithy Hall for the feast bazaar, where WI members had made two varieties of soup to warm people up as they browsed the stalls and bought raffle tickets.
Whist drive
The week had kicked off with feast services on Sunday in both the parish church and Madron chapel, while other events this week have included a whist drive, feast bingo and killer pool and darts tournaments in the King William IV.
Still to come are the traditional feast concerts which take place in Landithy Hall tonight and tomorrow from 7.30pm.
Organised by Karen Pearce, the theme this year is Elvis and Michael Jackson.
Karen says: "I think most of the children have heard of Michael Jackson, but I'm not sure they know much about Elvis!"
This year, the show has a special guest star in The Duke of Rock while the vicar, the Rev Tim Hawkins, can also be seen in a new light. Concert tickets can be bought from Madron Shop (adults £2.50, children £1).

“A most glorious spectacle as long as a fox wasn't ripped apart for their amusement.”
