House in Camborne damaged by falling tree
A property in Camborne was damaged by a falling tree.
The tree smashed into the home on Rectory Road at approximately 1.40am.
The occupants had a lucky escape and firefighters were scrambled to the scene and helped cover up a hole in the roof and the window.
The damage came in the wake of wild winds and torrential rain late last night and into the early hours.
Part of Rectory Road between Tregenna Lane junction and the A3047 Church Street junction, remains partially blocked by the tree.
In a seperate incident firefighters closed the road at Madron, near Penzance, to allow Western Distribution to make fallen cables safe.
They were called to Parc-Abnac and Fore Street at about 4.30am and were at the scene for nearly an hour while the electricity supplier carried out the work.
The road is still closed between Church Road junction and the Boswarthen turn-Off junction.
