Three fire engines were sent to tackle a burning house in Cornwall yesterday afternoon.

Flames began tearing through the two-storey semi-detached house on Rose Hill, St Blazey, near St Austell, at around 3pm.

It broke out in an upstairs bedroom before spreading to the roof.

Two pumps from St Austell and one from Fowey were sent to the scene.

Flames were out by 4.25pm.

One person suffered smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene by paramedics but was not thought to be seriously injured.

The cause of the fire was being investigated.
