The Cornish Pirates have announced that utility back Jimmy Moore's ankle injury has not responded to treatment as both he and the club hoped and he has decided to give up his career in professional rugby.

Cornish Pirates' CEO, Rod Coward told the club's website: "The club greatly appreciates Jimmy's contribution during his time with the Pirates and he and his family leave with every good wish for the future."
Moore joined the Cornish Pirates from Coventry in 2006, and has proved himself a more than able kicker and try-scorer, playing 94 games for the Pirates.
Featuring often on the wing, he also played a number of games at both scrum-half and fly-half, and it was in the number 10 shirt that he performed a vital role back in 2007 when he slotted a magnificent match-winning drop goal in the quarter-final of the EDF Energy National Trophy away to Doncaster.
