A PLANNING inquiry is due to open in Camborne on Wednesday to look at a proposal to build 40 homes at West Tolgus.

First Step Homes (SW) Ltd's application was turned down by Cornwall Council planning officers in November 2011.

The company put in a new application for 30 homes on the same site in February and a few weeks later lodged an appeal with the Government's planning inspectorate for the original application.

In July, Cornwall Council rejected the planning application for 30 homes, again under delegated powers.
