A NURSERY in St Blazey has highlighted the potential dangers of roads to its children after a near accident.

The interactive road safety week at St Blazey Happy Days Nursery saw the children being taught using multisensory learning.

Different road signs and their meaning were looked at while the youngsters also designed and made traffic lights to recreate stop and go games.

Staff and children role-played scenarios such as using a zebra crossing and how to cross the road safely.

A spokesperson from Happy Days said: "We all know that road safety is important and we believe that through the sharing of knowledge we can inspire, involve and motivate our young children in the use of road safety.

"The children thoroughly enjoyed this and enhanced their road safety learning. The week culminated with a visit from our local lollipop man who spoke to them about the dangers of the roads and how to be safe and seen."
