Ivys dent Magpies hopes of quick fix
Penzance 0, Ivybridge 7
IVYBRIDGE climbed out of the bottom two after picking up their first points of the season in a one-sided encounter at bottom side Penzance.
New Magpies boss John Dent included three new signings in his starting line-up but any hopes of a rapid turnaround in fortunes were dashed as the visitors raced into a two-goal lead inside the opening six minutes.
James Noble put the Ivy's ahead with a free header from a corner with less then two minutes on the clock, before winger Ben Smallridge made it 2-0 three minutes later with a sweetly struck volley.

Two of the Magpies new arrivals, Jack Ramsey and Callum George worked tirelessly for the home side and the pair combined to create Penzance's best opportunity of the first half, with the latter's shot being well saved by visiting keeper Josh Oak.
But it was the opposite end of the pitch that the hosts were found wanting and a calamitous mix-up in the home defence gifted Smallridge an opportunity to make it 3-0 after 28 minutes.
The Magpies' rearguard was breached again five minutes into the second half when Luke Brown's corner was superbly headed into the top right corner by Shea Saunders.
And after Penzance were denied their first goal of the season when George's neat half volley was ruled out for offside, Ivybridge added their fifth when Noble teed up a simple side-footed finish for Steve Sutton.
Ivy's substitute Finn Gillfillan made it 6-0 ten minutes from time with a curling shot past keeper Gavin Power, before fellow substitute Stuart Morgan unselfishly squared the ball across the six yard box for Sutton to complete the rout.
