John O'Groats bike ride one of the events in memory of Wayne
A 950-MILE cycle ride is just one of the events being planned this year to commemorate the death of Falmouth man Wayne McDonnell.
Mr McDonnell was a warder at Dartmoor Prison when he died suddenly in 2000, aged just 29.

It subsequently emerged that he had suffered from cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle.
Every year since then, his brother, PCSO Sean McDonnell has staged events to raise money for the Cardiomyopathy Association.
This has usually taken the form of a football match when 'Falmouth's Finest' take on a team of prison warders.
This year, though, will be the last year of fund-raising, so PCSO McDonnell is pushing the boat out.
The first fundraiser is to be an epic cycle ride from John O'Groats to Land's End, to take place next month.
The 43-year-old will be joined on the biking marathon by fellow PCSO Lewis Vague, 24.
PCSOs McDonnell and Vague, based at the Tremough campus in Penryn, will be accompanied on the ride by PCSO Bill Wood.
PCSO McDonnell has set an overall target of £5,000 to be raised for the Cardiomyopathy Association this year.
Other events planned include a 70/80s fancy dress night at Falmouth Rugby Club with music from local band, The Pistoleros on Saturday, June 6; a 24-hour sponsored darts' marathon at the end of June; and the annual football match in September.
