This is Cornwall

To beat the winter blues Newquay Cornwall Airport has a range of new charter trips that will brighten the outlook of people right across the county and from next week What's On will be running a fantastic competition to give away a trip for two to Lake Garda. Don't forget to pick up your copy!

WITH THE long nights and cold days upon us, it is fair to say that January has arrived.

But never fear as Newquay Cornwall Airport has unveiled a range of new charter trips that inject the sunshine into what's left of the winter.

Thanks to the previous success of holidays with Newmarket Holidays from Cornwall's own airport, the UK's leading independently owned tour operator has just announced that it will be flying to even more European hot spots direct from Newquay in 2010.

Last year Newmarket's all-inclusive trips to Madeira and Malta were complete sell-outs.

For 2010, the tour operator has extended its direct-from-Cornwall options to also include Naples with clients being able to easily explore the nearby cities and areas of Sorrento and Sant' Agata.

Another beautiful new location is Verona where visitors can also take in the stunning scenery of Lake Garda.

Passengers can now also take the option to do a flight and accommodation cheaper option if they would prefer so that they can head out to explore the destinations under their own steam.

Alternatively, clients can book onto the highly popular full experiences which include coach tours and guided walks, in some of the destinations most beautiful and cultural spots.

Madeira lies in the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean, sun-blessed and sub-tropical climate; it is home to a vibrant and varied array of exotic flora, which is perfect for those looking for a relaxing holiday break.

Sorrento on the other hand is in one of Europe's most picturesque regions and has a stunning coastline of colourful towns, historic sites and glorious views set against the warm Mediterranean.

Verona the renowned backdrop for the tragic tale of Juliet and her Romeo and home to the famous opera season held yearly in its Roman amphitheatre.

From the African-like sun of Madeira to the spectacular scenery of both Northern and Southern Italy, the all-inclusive and travel and accommodation-only options from Newmarket offer great international and cultural experiences no matter what age you are or interests you have.

Alison Keeble, regional charter director at Newmarket Holidays said: "We have certainly been developing a loyal fan base in Cornwall with many of our 2009 all-inclusive trips selling out very quickly.

"As we're aware that some people want the ease of simply getting to our international destinations and having more of an independent twist on their trip, for 2010 we'll also be offering flight and accommodation options to all of our destinations.

Josie Slater, marketing officer for Newquay Cornwall Airport said: "It's not hard to see why Cornish people start thinking of hotter climes at this time of year and we're delighted to see the new and ever-popular return routes from Newmarket Holidays being announced.

" It also means you can save time by avoiding the long trek to other airports, which often adds up to a day each side of a holiday."

The just launched dates and destinations are: March 24 – Madeira from £499 for flight and hotel, May 9 – Lake Garda and Verona from £526 for flight and hotel, October 16 – Sorrento and Naples from £529 for flight and hotel.
