A kayaker spent 45 minutes in the water off the south Cornwall coast before being rescued by an RNLI lifeboat. The 64-year-old man had fallen off the kayak and had been unable to get back on the craft while paddling at Poldhu Cove. He was kayaking with a 47-year-old woman who raised the alarm at about 1pm on Saturday. The pair were taken ashore by the Penlee lifeboat to Mullion Cove, on The Lizard, where they were seen by paramedics. Falmouth Coastguard said both kayakers were experienced and wearing wetsuits and buoyancy aids.
