Kayaker rescued by lifeboat crews
A kayaker who got into difficulty outside Padstow Lifeboat Station was rescued by lifeguards based in nearby Harlyn Bay because the station's boat was at Bude Lifeboat Day.
Onlookers called the coastguard, after the kayaker fell from his vessel, crouching for safety on a nearby rock.
The lifeguards from Harlyn Bay were called shortly before midday and the casualty was back on shore 25 minutes later.
An inflatable dinghy from Padstow also assisted in the rescue.
