Kitchen exhibition extended at Gallery 49
THE current exhibition at Gallery 49 in Falmouth's old High Street features the return of local artist Linda Kitchen.
Linda lives in Falmouth and has recently acquired a studio space in Penryn where she has been busy creating this latest body of works.

The images on show differ greatly however from Linda's previous outing, where the works were largely abstract in appearance. This time, using the same techniques, the artist has produced some incredibly naturalistic effects – depicting aerial views of farms and ancient stone circles that give the viewer a strange sensation of falling, or floating.
Close inspection reveals that there are apparently no brushes at work here, so these oil paintings on paper have been created using rags or sponges, followed by rubbing and scraping.
The artist herself said: "The process is both repetitive and physical, and requires me to work on more than one painting at a time.
"The repetition involved in the process of applying the paint has the effect of triggering the accidental."
Those interested in painting should see these works if only to attempt to uncover the 'secret' methods behind their creation.
The exhibition has been extended and will now run until October 17.
The gallery is open on Tuesdays, and Thursday to Saturday from 12.30pm to 5.30pm. Call Richard on 07729 394759 for information.
