LABOUR CONFERENCE: Rail passengers 'must have free wi-fi'
Train companies should provide free wireless internet for passengers, Shadow Transport Secretary Maria Eagle has said. She added that any future contracts to run train services should require operators to provide free wi-fi. Ms Eagle said a free connection should be part of a 21st Century service as people cannot work on trains without one. Westcountry rail travellers have condemned the lack of broadband services on the Great Western franchise, which was to be re-let but has been mired in delays.
