LIVE: Cornwall Council leader Jim Currie set to unveil new cabinet
The identity of Cornwall Council
's new-look cabinet is expected to be revealed today as the "bizarre" political situation continues.
Council leader Jim Currie, whose Conservative group is still run by former leader Alec Robertson, will approve the new members with his deputy, Independent Neil Burden, who also does not lead his political group.
Councillors from both parties have been jockeying for positions in the new executive, which could see new faces such as Fiona Ferguson, the darling of the Tory rebels, and Andrew Wallis, the Independent behind today's emergency debate.

A key party meeting of the coalition's junior Independent partners will attempt to select its preferred cabinet members today, just before the full council meets to debate the part-privatisation plans.
Mr Currie told the Western Morning News he hoped he would not be bowled a "fast ball" by the group just ahead of the crucial meeting.
"Things are starting to settle down but I am not complacent," he added.
"The meeting will be a very good test of the mood of the council – I will have to balance all the talents, opportunities and risks."
