UPDATED: Land's End Airport closed again after reopening for the first time in 2013
Land's End Airport was closed again this afternoon and flights were diverted back to Newquay after just three flights had taken off for the Isles of Scilly.
The Skybus flights to and from St Mary's returned to Land's End this morning after being diverted to Newquay Cornwall Airport due to a waterlogged runway since before Christmas.
But by this afternoon, arrangements were already being made to transfer the flights back to Newquay, from where the scheduled service has been running since December 18.
A spokeswoman for the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company said more rain had forced them to stop flying for fear of damaging the cliff-top runway further.

She said the company was making arrangements for passengers and a further announcement would be made later this afternoon.
Hundreds of passengers have seen their journeys disrupted by the weather-related problems - the first to force the closure of the airport for more than a week in its history.
Land's End Airport is currently undergoing a major refurbishment, with a new terminal building, control tower and passenger facilities under construction.
