A landowner who illegally built two timber buildings and stored materials on his land at Perranwell Station has been prosecuted by Cornwall Council.

David Rowe, who lives on land adjacent to The Court, Grenna Lane, was convicted at Truro Crown Court for failing to comply with two planning enforcement notices.

Mr Rowe, who pleaded not guilty to the offences, was given a two year conditional discharge by the judge.

The council has promised to continue with planning enforcement and seek full compliance with notices.

John Drew, enforcement group leader for Central Cornwall, said: "The non-compliance with a Planning Enforcement Notice is a criminal offence and Cornwall Council is committed to prosecuting persons who do not comply with these notices."
