Launceston loyalty saves £50k in a year
HOLDERS of the Love Launceston Loyalty Card, which rewards shoppers for buying their food and other goods in the town on a regular basis, have saved £50,000.
Since the loyalty card was set up a year ago, cardholders have saved that amount with discounts in shops and businesses in Launceston.
And more than 100 businesses in the town have seen increased footfall and sales.
The scheme sees each business provide an offer to local shoppers who show their loyalty card at point of purchase.

Offers change on a regular basis with the change-over taking place on the first of each month, so shoppers are advised to check back regularly to see the latest updated offers.
Shoppers at HBH Woolacotts have saved more than £6,000, customers at Hazard Clothing more than £1,500 and customers at Castle Pet Supplies have saved more than £1,200. And at shops like Castle Jewellers, more than 50 per cent of customers use their loyalty card.
The group behind the scheme were out recently to celebrate the success and getting shoppers to enter this month's prize draw for a free meal for four at Cornish Delicacies worth up to £100.
In addition,Julie Butler received £100 worth of Warren's the Butchers' vouchers after instructing local solicitors Peters Langsford Davies in a new legal matter.
As a loyalty card holder Mrs Butler's name was entered into a free prize draw for the chance to win the vouchers.
Commercial property partner Helen Davies said: "When the Love Launceston initiative was proposed we wanted an offer that would fit with our company ethos of supporting the town and local businesses, and we came up with the voucher scheme.
"We have run this offer ever since the loyalty card scheme was launched last year, and during this time have given new and existing clients vouchers for Country Chic, Threads, The Arundell Restaurant, @Home, Beks, No 8 Café and other business in Launceston."
Each member sets its own offer and Peters Langsford Davies decided to take the approach of sharing the effect of receiving new business by passing on more new business in the form of vouchers to other Launceston firms.
