Lauren wins contest to design city's commemorative badge
A six-year-old girl has won the competition to design a pin badge for Armed Forces Day.
Lauren Craig, a pupil from Beechwood Primary School, Plymouth, won the competition that included pupils from primary schools across the city. Run by Plymouth City Council, the aim was for children to come up with a design for the official pin badge that is being sold to commemorate Plymouth Armed Forces Day.

After winning, Lauren said: "I felt amazed."
She explained her design, saying: "On my badge there's a Union Jack and Smeaton's Tower in the middle with the Red Arrows at the top. I thought of Plymouth and that's what I thought of."

Lauren even had the chance to meet the Lord Mayor after she was selected as the winner.
"It was a bit freaky to start off with but it was fun after a while," she said.
Lauren's mother, Becky Craig, added: "Lauren's very proud. Her grandad was in the Merchant Navy, so it's really nice she's won. I'm delighted for her. She's really proud to be representing the school as well."
Now the whole family are looking forward to attending Armed Forces Day today and celebrating what the pin badge is all about.
