TO CELEBRATE National Knitting Week pupils at Leedstown School have been learning about the traditional craft.

The youngsters were helped by Sue Hill of Sue's Fabric and Wool shop in Pratt's Market, Hayle, and school secretary Sarah Thomas said: "The children all had a chance at spinning and finger knitting and there was a competition to see who could knit the longest piece.

"The children all went home with the knitting still attached to their fingers."
