Liskeard Show moves back to its original slot
A popular one-day agricultural show in Cornwall is to return to its traditional July date after being postponed last year because of early summer deluges.
More than 6,500 people attended the Liskeard Show last year, which was moved to September after the showground was waterlogged.
Despite the rearrangement, organisers said it proved a great success, with profits being donated to local charities and organisations including the Liskeard Lions, Liskeard Round Table, the Precious Lives Appeal, HeartSwell SW and Friends of Liskeard.
Jerry Masters, chairman of the organising committee, said: "I'm pleased that the weather was good for the 2012 show, and thanks to all the hard work of the volunteers the show was a great success.

"Now the hard work starts all over again for next year's show."
This year's show will be held on July 13. The Liskeard and District Agricultural Association has elected George Hocking as its show president.
Mr Hocking said: "I'm honoured to have been asked to be president for this year's show and am already looking forward to the day."
