Lorry stuck for hour
PENZANCE police were called to the aid of a lorry that had become wedged between a building and wall.
Officers believe the driver had been following his GPS when he got stuck after turning on to South Place Folly in Penzance from Cornwall Terrace.
PCSO Mark Richards, was called to the incident at 3.30pm last Tuesday. "At some point along the route he had got himself wedged against a partly built porch of a new-build property in the road," he said.
"It was suggested at the time that the driver was following instructions from his GPS."

No one was injured in the incident although there was some structural damage to the porch.

“"Big_Ger" I saw you had replied to a comment I made about a story elsewhere but when I tried to access it, the comments section had been totally blanked, so I was unable. My apologies.”

“The lane is very narrow. To get through he had to mount the kerb and he obviously overlooked the effect this would have on the vertical line of his van and its horizontal width. And they say Euclid is old hat.”

“It's going to get worse if you read what a mess Apple made of their maps. A non existent airport in the middle of Dublin amongst many others. Good old paper maps are the answer as long as they are up to date.”

“This reliance on GPS rather than good driving skills is becoming more common and more of these incidents are happening.,
Hint to such drivers, your GPS tells you the way, not the width.”
