A BOOK that charts the history of Lostwithiel has undergone a facelift and update in a new edition published to coincide with jubilee year.

The New Book Of Lostwithiel tells the story of the town from its beginning as a vital port developed by the Normans, through the war years and to the present day with no chapter in its rich history overlooked.

The book was first published in 2003, and this latest edition has followed the community through the years since and serves as a time capsule of how life in Lostwithiel has changed down the years. The people, places and events that shaped a community have all found a home upon the pages of author, the late Barabara Fraser's book.

Mrs Fraser arrived in Lostwithiel in the Eighties. Struck by the history of the town, she began work on her first book, The Book Of Lostwithiel, and saw it published in 1993.
