'Low standards' spark care home fears

A new report from the Alzheimer's Society has revealed 72% of people in the South West would be very or fairly scared about going into a care home.

The report "Low Expectations" found excellent care does exist but pessimism about life in care homes is leading people to settle for less.

The charity said across the region there are 2,487 care homes offering 69,239 places.

This is the second highest regional number of care homes in the UK.
