MBE for Cornwall's broadband pioneer
A MAN from Chapel Amble near Wadebridge who played a pivotal role in driving the development of superfast broadband in Cornwall has collected his MBE at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
Nigel Ashcroft received the award from the Duke of Cornwall for services to economic regeneration.
Mr Ashcroft, the Cornwall Development Company's programme director of Superfast Cornwall, was accompanied at the ceremony by his wife Lynn and daughter Shannon. He said: "I was thrilled to receive the MBE. It is a huge honour to be recognised in this way and a real thrill for me and my family to visit the Palace. I am delighted that this also helps shine the spotlight on the pioneering initiatives currently under way in Cornwall."
