MP Sarah Newton welcomes First Great Western franchise deal
CORNISH MP Sarah Newton has welcomed the news that the new First Great Western franchise will secure improvements to Cornwall’s rail services.
The franchise runs until 2015 and has been awarded to First Great Western, the current services operators.
Under the terms of the franchise Cornwall’s nine daily trains to London will be retained, with extra standard class seats added to ease overcrowding at busy periods.
