A PENZANCE woman is due to appear in court charged with holding up a shop with a machete.

Leanne Osborne, of Polweath Close, will make her first appearance at Truro Crown Court tomorrow.

The 27-year-old was arrested and charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a machete, following an incident at Heamoor Stores on February 1.

Entering no plea when she appeared at Truro Magistrates Court last Friday, the justices remanded her in custody and committed the case to the crown court because of the seriousness of the offence.
