Man accused of murdering OAP
A REDRUTH man has appeared in court accused of murdering an elderly man who was found dead at a disused Cornish mine.
Kevin Cooper, 33, of Poldory View, Carharrack, appeared before Truro magistrates on Thursday morning.
He entered no plea to the charge and was remanded in custody to appear before Plymouth Crown Court tomorrow morning for a bail hearing.
Cooper was arrested in Reading last Tuesday morning, police said. He was transported to Cornwall for questioning and charged with murder on Wednesday evening.

The charge came after an investigation into the death of David Alderson, aged 72, who was found dead with head injuries at Wheal Maid, near Carharrack, on January 18.
Cooper appeared at Plymouth Crown Court on Friday, made no application for bail and was remanded in custody.
He will face a preliminary hearing at Truro Crown Court on March 4.
