Man airlifted after three-vehicle crash
A young man was last night fighting for life after he suffered serious injuries in a smash on a road in Cornwall. The man, who was understood to have life-threatening injuries, was airlifted to hospital following the incident in which three cars collided – leaving at least three other people hurt. The incident happened on the Lanteglos Highway, near Fowey, shortly before 7pm. Emergency crews arrived on the scene after reports that at least one person was trapped in the wreckage. A Sea King rescue helicopter took the injured man to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. The crash involved a Daihatsu, a Ford Galaxy and a Peugeot. It was not known how the man was responding to treatment last night.
