Man arrested after serious assault in Polruan on weekend

A 34-year-old man has been arrested after a driver was assaulted by a pedestrian on Sunday afternoon in Polruan.

A 49-year-old local man was driving his car when an altercation took place with a male pedestrian between 3.30pm and 4pm on Sunday, 7 October on Fore Street.

The driver was seriously assaulted, sustaining facial injuries which he is being treated for in Derriford Hospital. Damage was also caused to the car.

It is believed that the road was blocked and a number of other vehicles were forced to stop.
