A MAN who blinded his girlfriend Tina Nash in a horrific attack at her home has lost his appeal against his sentence.

In May, Shane Jenkin was given an indefinite life sentence with a minimum term of six years after he admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent on Tina Nash.

During a prolonged attack at her home in Hayle in April 2011 he strangled the mother of two into unconsciousness in her bed, gouged out her eyes and left her with a fractured jaw and a broken nose.

At the Court of Appeal in London, Jenkin, aged 33 and from Penzance, had appealed against his indefinite term but his case was thrown out by the Lord Chief Justice, Mr Justice Mitting, and Mr Justice Griffin.
