A man has denied trying to poison his disabled wife. Stephen Hirst, 52, is accused of poisoning his double amputee wife Catherine at their home in Hatherleigh Road, Exeter.
He denied unlawfully and maliciously administering a poison, namely morphine, with intent to endanger her life or inflict grievous bodily harm on her between September 29 and October 2 this year, but admitted a lesser charge of administering a poison with intent to cause her injury or annoyance.
A trial has been listed for next summer. Hirst was bailed to live with his mother in Leeds.
