Man held on 'smoke grenade' charge
A teenager from Torquay has been charged with possession of a smoke grenade after he was stopped attempting to enter Plainmoor stadium for the Torquay United v Exeter City match on Tuesday. The 18-year-old was arrested after he was found to be in possession of the device at about 7.50pm, according to Devon and Cornwall Police. He was detained at Torquay Custody Centre before being charged with the offence under the Sporting Events Act 1985. The teenager was then released on bail and is due to appear before South and West Devon magistrates on January 31.
