A 42-year-old man suffered serious head and injuries in a hit-and-run on the A30 on Bodmin Moor.

The emergency services were called to Temple, near Bodmin, just before 8pm on Tuesday where paramedics and members of the public had been treating the victim. Police said it appeared the man had been walking from Bodmin towards Launceston when he was struck from behind by a lorry. The man's injuries were initially described as "life threatening" but his condition has now improved. Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
