A man is recovering in hospital after a three-car crash in Cornwall.

The man was airlifted to Plymouth's Derriford Hospital at 7pm on Tuesday after the crash at Lanteglos Highway, near Fowey, involving a Daihatsu, a Ford Galaxy and a Peugeot.

The Peugeot driver was initially reported as fighting for his life, but police said yesterday that his arm, leg and head injuries were now not life-threatening.

There were four other casualties as a result of the incident, which forced police to close the road for three hours.
