Man found unconscious at Gwithian is taken to hospital after dramatic rescue
A 66-year-old man who was found unconscious at Gwithian Beach has been taken to hospital after a dramatic rescue.
Lifeguards at Gwithian Beach called Falmouth Coastguard for emergency assistance after the man was discovered without a pulse.
A cliff rescue team from Portreath and a rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose were scrambled to the scene at around 2.40pm this afternoon.
The casualty was treated at the scene with a defibrillator.
A spokesperson for Falmouth Coastguard said the man was taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital, where his condition is currently unknown.
