Manaccan children thrilled by letter from the Queen
CHILDREN from the pre-school in Manaccan were overjoyed to receive a special letter from the Queen.
Pre-school leader Sarah Brennan said they have been learning about the royal family and Royal Mail.
"The children have been busy changing their writing area into a post office," she said.
"It decided their first official written letter should go to someone important. The children researched many important people but decided their letters should be sent to the Queen.
"After eagerly watching the post being delivered every day, on Thursday the children were extremely excited to receive a reply to their letters from Buckingham Palace."
She said the Queen's lady-in-waiting had replied to the children commenting on how splendid their work was and how the Queen enjoyed hearing about their project.
The letters also included posters about the Royal family. She added that the pre-school, based at the village primary school, currently has spare spaces.
