Max effort earns Paul derby win
PAUL seconds were in the runs in their home game with St Ives in Division Two West, writes Michael Weeks.
Max Miller made 70, Matthew Patching 54 and Max Berryman 47 in the big total of 270-9.
Aaron Rowe took four for 43 and Dave Marsh three for 82.
St Ives were all out for 74 with Berryman, Jack Lugg and Ben Robinson taking three wickets.
Leedstown suffered a 127 run home defeat against Camborne seconds who made 255-7. Kevin Knowles took four for 49. Rosudgeon lost to the leaders Helston by the big margin of ten wickets. Treve Polglase held the innings together with 35 in the 149 all out, but Dan Jenkin and Stuart Pethick knocked the runs off in only 27 overs.
St Just seconds lost by seven wickets at Truro after making 137, Scott Meagor hitting 39.
There was a defeat for the Division Three West leaders Gulval at Beacon, as their lead has been cut to ten points from Praze. Ryan and Shane Eddy both took three wickets in Beacon's 154. Gulval made 136 with Kevin Gendall scoring 29.
Hayle seconds earned a good win at home to Mt Hawke and Porthtowan by three wickets, after chasing 209 to win. Ben Trestrail took three for 11 before Jamie Harvey made 60 and Tristan Hearle 58.
St Buryan lost at Chacewater after the home side made 207-8, with Chris Phillips, David Wynter and Marius Odendaal taking two wickets each. St Buryan were knocked over for 91 with Wynter making 29 not out.
Botallack & St Levan enjoyed a five wicket success at Falmouth. Dan Tregear had tremendous figures of 12-7-9-2 in the home side's 144-7. Paul Angove led the reply with 51no.
Elsewhere Goldsithney were 65 run winners at Ludgvan, while Penzance seconds beat St Just thirds by 146 runs, with half centuries for Ashley Weston (68) and Dominic Angove (61). Kelvin James took four for 17.
