Truro City rise to third place after victory at Tiverton Town
Truro City soared to third place in the Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division following yesterday's 2-1 victory at Tiverton Town, writes Ross Reid.
Lee Hodges' White Tigers followed up Saturday's home win over Oxford City by the same scoreline to win at Tivvy. Former Exeter City defender Barry McConnell scored both Truro goals from penalties in the 45th and 62nd minutes, to sandwich a home effort from Adam Mortimer on the hour.

It was the Truro's third successive 2-1 win, extending their unbeaten run to five matches and hauling them to within a point of leaders Cambridge City after six matches.
In Division One South & West, newly promoted Bideford suffered their first League defeat, 2-1 at home to Taunton Town. James Mudge – the former Tiverton and Exeter City forward – was on target for the Robins, but his 80th minute goal came after Paul West's Peacocks had opened up a 2-0 lead. Rodney Marsh opened the scoring after 30 minutes, with Corey Lewis doubling the Somerset side's advantage in the 75th minute.
Bridgwater Town lost 4-1 at home to Clevedon Town in the same division while, in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division: Buckland Athletic thrashed Witheridge 7-0.
