Meals group dines out on job well done
DOZENS of people gathered at Pelynt last week to mark the end of the village's meals-on-wheels service.
A celebration meal was organised in the Dagger on Wednesday for anyone who had been involved in the scheme over its 36-year history.

Everyone involved in the Pelynt meals-on-wheels service get together to mark the end of the scheme.
The community meals service ceased earlier this year due to lack of demand.
It was set up by a handful of residents in 1974 and provided the local community with hot meals twice a week.
Betty Philp, one of the original members of the kitchen team, said: "Through the years we have had wonderful support. We were, we understand, the only scheme left in Cornwall which cooked our own meals and that was thanks to a super bunch of ladies and several husbands who helped with the cooking and delivering. I feel proud to be associated with Pelynt meals-on-wheels."
