Meeting on HQ move 'too far off'
A PENSIONER behind a 250-name petition opposing calls to relocate St Agnes Parish Council's headquarters has criticised the location chosen for a public meeting on the plan.
Diane Wills, from Wheal Kitty, said Porthtowan Village Hall was too far for villagers to travel for the meeting, on Monday at 7pm.
"I believe using this hall will deter people from attending. I know many elderly people who don't have transport and can't get there.
"I doubt they'll relocate, so all I can do is urge as many people to go to the meeting and make their views known."

“Just as many, if not more, parishioners live outside St Agnes village as within it. For dozens of years others have had to travel from Blackwater, Mithian, Mt Hawke and Porthtowan - a whole 2.5 miles!
In the past the Parish Council has frequently voiced the need to seek more involvement with the whole of the Parish and this would seem an ideal opportunity. It's high time that these selfish and self-centred complainers realised that the world doesn't revolve around them, nor begin and end on their doorsteps.”
