Mickelson makes mark with Phoenix triumph
GOLF: Phil Mickelson won the Phoenix Open in Arizona for the third time in his decorated career on Sunday. The four-times major winner completed a wire-to-wire success at TPC Scottsdale on 28 under – the second-lowest total ever in a 72-hole tournament on the PGA Tour. That was good enough to secure victory by four strokes from fellow American Brandt Snedeker. The victory also ensured that Mickelson has won a title on the American tour in ten consecutive years, which is a tour record.
