Milkshake programme airs on 5
HAYLE was the chosen location for a popular children's television show which is aired nationwide this week.
Milkshake! – a breakfast show on Channel 5 which features a variety of children's programmes – was in the town in August to film episodes for a five-minute slot on a feature called the Milkshake Monkey.
The Milkshake Monkey visits locations across the country to learn new skills.
In Hayle he visited Mr B's Ice Cream Parlour before heading over to the Towans to train with Hayle Surf Life Saving Club.

Charlotte Barden-Lees, co-owner of Mr B's, said their section of the show involved teaching Milkshake Monkey about ice cream-making.
"They were really keen to know how ice cream was made. We showed the pasteurising, blended-up bananas, then it coming out [of the freezer]."
Mrs Barden-Lee's ten-year-old daughter Lola then had a starring role in the scenes as she got to sample the end produce alongside the puppet.
It took almost five hours to film the five-minute episode, which was aired on Channel 5 yesterday morning. " I'm really excited it's on TV. It's a good thing for Hayle and for Cornwall," added Mrs Barden-Lees.
The monkey then spent time on Hayle beach with youngsters from Hayle Surf Life Saving Club training to become RNLI lifeguards.
Dave Parker, Hayle SLSC, said: "Milkshake Monkey spent a day in August visiting Hayle beach. He trained with the nippers; they learnt about the different flags."
Hayle Surf Life Saving Club is set to feature on tomorrow's episode at 6.55am.
