Mining education gets £860,000 donation
MINING education in Cornwall received a huge boost this week after a former student made a donation of £860,000.
The Camborne School of Mines Trust received the hefty donation from former student, Tim Henderson, to support students and staff at the school.
The donation will be used to create the new Henderson-Hackett Fund following the reception at the Pool Innovation Centre on Monday August 19.
Dr Peter Hackett OBE was the principal of the school when Mr Henderson was a student and the fund is to be used to expand the promotion of Mining and Minerals education at the Camborne School of Mines, now part of the University of Exeter at Tremough.

“It is really satisfying to be giving something back”.
