Mitch's Seahorse makes top 50 listing
A Westcountry seafood restaurant has made it on to a top-50 foodie things-to-do listing compiled by a group of the UK's top food writers.
Mitch Tonks' Seahorse restaurant at Dartmouth has been included in the list because of its "simple yet skilfully prepared seafood which uses locally landed fish in many of its dishes."
The Seahorse restaurant's inclusion is made all the more remarkable by the fact that the top-50 listing also features international treats like dining out in Tokyo's central fish market; a visit to Marrakech's Jemaa el Fna Square where people "graze their way around stall-upon-stall of sizzling street food"; eating giant sandwiches at Manhattan's landmark Carnegie Deli; and lunch at Le Gavroche in Mayfair.
The Kenwood Food Lovers Bucket List – compiled by a panel of six culinary experts including TV chef Simon Rimmer, writer and editor of Waitrose Kitchen magazine William Sitwell and restaurant critic Giles Coren – set out to discover "the essential food experiences that Brits should have in a lifetime..."
