Coast director Manda Brookman has described Mod as a woman with a fire in her belly. She said: "Her business represents an organisation that works really hard on its environmental impact and is very clear about wanting to make a positive social difference.
"We hope that Mod, like our other ambassadors, finds a way of inspiring other business of doing the same through, for example, talks, conferences and writing articles."
Global Boarders works within the leisure and travel and social sectors which include schools, colleges, family services, Cornwall NHS and disadvantaged groups like West Cornwall Women's Aid and St Michael's Refuge.
Mod says she is passionate about helping to create social change with an emphasis on improving family cohesion and personal and collective responsibility through their specialist surfing programmes.
She said: "I feel privileged to receive this ambassador role from Coast.
"We have worked really hard over the last five years creating a successful, sustainable surf company and are truly delighted that our efforts and best practice have been officially recognised.
"We will continue promoting and delivering excellence while trying to make a difference in our small way to help create meaningful, social change."
