A ST IVES woman is planning to raise money and awareness of breast cancer by completing three moonlit walks in England, Scotland and Iceland.

The Three Land Challenge of "moonwalks" will take place this year and Suzanne Tanner, pictured, who is a town councillor and RNLI volunteer, plans to raise £1,000.

She completed the 26.2-mile London Moonwalk in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

"In 2008 the aim was to get fit and raise money for the Walk the Walk charity, which raises funds and awareness for breast cancer causes," she said.

"The walk started at midnight from Hyde Park and I vowed never to do it again, but I lost my auntie the day after I completed the walk so in 2010 I felt compelled to raise some more money for breast cancer.

"This year I felt I needed more of a challenge."

The Three Land Challenge will mean three moonwalks in five weeks.

Suzanne has a fundraising page online at www. walkthewalkfundraising. org/suzanne_tanner

She is also keen to hear from potential sponsors; the Anchorage B&B in St Ives has already provided her with a pink hoodie to wear while training.

The first fundraising event will be a coffee morning from 10am to noon on Saturday, March 23, at the Western Hotel in St Ives, with coffee, tea, cakes, a tombola, a raffle and stalls.
