A 26-year-old motorcyclist was fighting for his life in hospital yesterday after a crash in West Cornwall on Wednesday evening. Emergency services were called to the A3074 St Ives Road, Carbis Bay, at 6.25pm after reports of a collision between a Yamaha 125 motorcycle and a grey Toyota Auris. The rider, believed to live and work locally, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police yesterday described his condition as "critical". The car driver, a woman from the Hayle area, suffered shock but did not go to hospital. Witnesses are asked to come forward.
