St Ives ace Moyle set to make big impact
ST IVES head coach Joff Rowe has described the departure of talented back Kyle Moyle to Championship side Cornish Pirates as a "double-edged sword" for the club.
The youngster, who celebrates his 20th birthday next month, has been one of the stars of the Hakes' push for promotion from the Cornwall and Devon League this season, scoring 22 tries in 12 league and cup appearances.
He has also been earning rave reviews for his performances for Cornwall in the National U-20 Championship.
Moyle, who joined National Two South side Cornish All Blacks from St Ives for last season, before returning to the Hakes during the summer, spent three weeks training with the Pirates, and they liked enough of what they saw to offer him a contract.

It is a great feather in the cap of St Ives to have one of their players moving up six levels to play for the Pirates, but they have also lost one of their most potent attacking threats.
"I am really, really pleased for Kyle that this opportunity has come along, but I am disappointed from a club perspective to lose him," admitted Rowe.
"It is exciting though as well, because we also have Max Bodilly, Tyler Gendall and Todd Prisk all currently with the Exeter Academy, and likely to be involved in U18 league fixtures for them against Bath and Saracens over the next two weekends.
"And when you look at where St Ives have been over the last few years, it is great to think we are offering a springboard to 17-to-19-year-old players like that to show their ability and skills.
"Kyle is only 19 and it is great for him to go and test the water and see what it's about, and I said to him that if things don't work out in the future and he wants to come and play some rugby, and enjoy it, as he has done with us, then he would be more than welcome at St Ives."
Rowe believes he has seen enough from Moyle to persuade him that he will be able to make an impact at a higher level.
"At 19, there is still a massive amount of development in him to take place, but Kyle has a great interest in developing himself," said Rowe, the former Cornwall county head coach.
"He is an all-round sportsman, he loves his cricket and his golf, and if he is given an opportunity, and maybe puts on a few more pounds in weight, he has got a lot of pace and great vision, and a great ability to run off both feet, and he can play at nine, 10, 13 and 15.
"It is a big step-up for anyone to move into the Championship, but I am sure he will do it.
"I am sure Ian Davies and the other coaching staff at the Pirates are looking at him for the future, and not necessarily to plug gaps this season, but if he gets the opportunity, I'm sure he will impress."
Moyle will be loaned out to his former club, Cornish All Blacks, at the start of the new year to gain him more game time and experience.
