Only Mozart allowed at St Mawes festival
MUSIC At Tresanton presents Only Mozart in St Mawes from November 8 to 10.
This is the eighth year for this very special winter event which brings the world's top classical music performers for an intense weekend of chamber music concerts in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
All concerts take place at the Methodist Chapel on Chapel Terrace in St Mawes, and in previous years have been regularly recorded and broadcast by BBC Radio 3. This year the programme is a real treat, focusing on Mozart, and offering a great variety of his work including chamber music – piano trios and quartets, string trios and quartets, violin sonata, solo piano music, lieder and arias, a piano concerto and even a concertante aria for soprano, string quartet and piano.
The artists, as always, are world famous. Prize-winner at the Cardiff Singer Of The World competition, soprano Ailish Tynan, pictured, has sung leading roles at the world's leading opera houses including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, La Scala Milano and others. This is a return visit to St Mawes for Ailish.
